As reported the other day
we were able to pick up a big (they're all big) league win on the road in
Clinton on Wednesday against a tough Hamilton squad.
Hamilton's game plan
coming in was to slow the game down by having long possessions on offense and
play zone on defense. Early on they
executed their plan to perfection which was aided by some face off wins and
goals on their first two possessions.
Fortunately we started to get some stops on defense and as the game wore
on, we were able to win some draws.
Harrison Goodkind had a great day at the x
winning 12 of 18 draws and both Darric White and Cal
Williams did a terrific job on the wing coming up with 50/50 ground balls.
The game ball went to
sophomore Jack Cleary after scoring the first goal of each half and sticking a
big shot in the 4th quarter. Jack has a
devastating split dodge and has been getting to dangerous spots all year, it
was nice to see him cash in on some opportunities against Hamilton. Jon Broome finished the day with 2 goals and
4 assists while Jack Rautiola had a goal and 3
assists.
Next up we have a scrappy
Bates team coming to town this weekend.
They have some talent at both ends of the field and a very good face off
specialist. After a tough one goal loss
to Bowdoin at home on Wednesday I'm sure they'll be ready to go tomorrow.
