I wanted to get a quick note out here before we hit the road
for Syracuse to give a recap of our Bowdoin game over the weekend. It was
a great lacrosse game and unfortunately we came out on the wrong end of
it.
Hats off to Bowdoin as they had a great day at the face off
x against our guys and also did a better job off the ground of finding their
teammates and turning it into offense. We had a number of opportunities
to get the ball off the ground and move it and we weren’t able to finish the
play, certainly a focus for us going forward.
Our guys competed and after being down for most of the game
came back to take the lead with 2:14 remaining. Bowdoin tied it up a
minute later and although we had some chances in OT, we weren’t able to get one
to go.
Two first-years stepped up the other day and played like
seasoned veterans against the Polar Bears. AJ Kucinski
went 3g, 4a and Danny Jacobs, another hockey player who came out for the team
late this spring, stuck three big man up goals for us.
Tough sledding right now for our group but as long as we are
resilient, we still have plenty of opportunities to get back on the right
track.
First up, RIT tomorrow night in the Carrier Dome at 7:30. We had a hard fought game with them last year and we have all been looking forward to this one ever since.
