As reported last night by
Ian, we lost big last night down at SUNY Albany to the Red Dragons and it was
never close after the 2nd quarter.
We were actually up 1-0
and 2-1 on some nice goals in transition but began to leave too much on the
table all over the field. Throwing the ball away on the clear after big stops, not picking up
contested GB's, just not ready to compete at that level, yet.
I was very impressed with
how Cortland got after it in all phases of the game,
they play with confidence, tenacity, and understand what they're trying to do
in any situation. They're just a very good, smart lacrosse team. They may not be the best team in the country
but they'll be in the mix come May.
Overall we're just not
where we want to be right now as a team and have a long way to go. One of the realities of scheduling a tough
out of conference slate is that you find out where you're at and unlike some
other teams out there in our league, we're certainly
not building any false confidence! Taken
the right way, we have definitely found out what our deficiencies are as a team
and will begin addressing those tomorrow in practice. We'll definitely have their attention and
plan to have a great practice!
The good news is we're 2-0
in league play going into our Wesleyan tilt down in Middletown on
Saturday. We'll see how quick we can
bounce back and look forward to getting back out there.
