Big win for the Panthers last night under the lights in Beverly with a pro Middlebury crowd on hand to catch the game.  We had a fantastic turnout from parents and alums, it was a great environment for a college lacrosse game.

While there is still plenty for us to clean up at both ends of the field, it's great to see our guys flying around on the ride and in the middle of the field on loose balls.  We put the ball on the ground quite a few times last night and now we need to work on turning those situations into goals.

Our seniors really stepped up on offense with Jon Broome (2g, 4a),  Sean Carroll (5g, 1a),  Tim Giarrusso (2g), Jack Cleary (1g), and game ball recipient Kyle Soroka (2g) all playing with confidence and like they'd been there before.  The numbers in the midfield for Tim, Jack, and Kyle would be higher but we ran 7 offensive midfielders last night with Henry Riehl, Jack Gould (1g, 1a), Cedric Rhodes (1a), and Michael McCormack (1a) all logging significant minutes as well.

Defensively we put together a good performance in settled situations led by senior Dylan Fowler and junior Jon Hurvitz.  We need to tighten things up in transition and when we're man down in a hurry with the slate we have in front of us.  Once again our defensive midfielders came to play and will hopefully get more involved in sparking transition offense for us going forward.

Next up we have the Jumbos coming to town on Saturday at 2pm.  The defending NESCAC and NCAA Champions are currently ranked #1 in the country and will provide us with a tremendous challenge at this point in the season.  What an opportunity for this team! I can't wait to see who steps up on Saturday.
